Green Tea is Green Tea if it's Just Green Tea

Green Tea.

Green tea is one of the healthiest beverages we can consume and it contains incredible health benefits for our body. So what exactly makes green tea so good and why everybody raves about it? Click 'Read More' to find out more about green tea and it's health benefits.

Loaded with antioxidants and nutrients, its no wonder green tea is good for us. So what exactly can green tea do?

Food for the brain. Green tea contains caffeine and amino acid L-theanine. Caffeine is known to improve brain functions such as improving mood, vigilance, reaction time and memory. L-theanine increases the activity of the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA, which has anti-anxiety effects. Theanine provides a relaxing and tranquilizing effect. It also increases dopamine and the production of alpha waves in the brain. These benefits helps lower the risk of Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease.

Healthy blood, healthy heart. Green tea can help regulate glucose levels, prevent high insulin spikes, reduce bad cholesterol, improve the ratio of good cholesterol to bad cholesterol, and with regular consumption it can reduce high blood pressure. This benefits the heart, as it increases blood flow and relaxes arteries. These benefits leads to preventing heart issues, reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases and type II diabetes.

Oral care. Studies say green tea  can help destroy bacteria and viruses that cause throat infections, dental caries, and other dental issues. It can also reduce bad breath.

Sickness killer. Green tea has strong antibacterial and antiviral agents that lowers your risk of infections. It helps reduce the risk of cancers such as breast cancer, prostate cancer, and colorectal cancer.

Weight maintenance. Although it doesn't melt the fat off your body, it helps increase your metabolism and increase fat burning.

Pretty good skin. Green tea can help with wrinkles, signs of aging, and reduce sun damage. How? Because of its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits.

Adding things such as milk in green tea can reduce the antioxidant value. Now what do you think about tea that is green? Is it worth a sip or two? It's better than other tea, I know that. Now that you know the benefits of green tea, let me ask you this. What is green tea?
