Stay Healthy in Winter

My favorite time of the year is winter. Cold weather, fuzzy sweaters, hot drinks, and lots of eating. We all know how hard it is to stay in shape, drink water, and eat somehow healthy. Here are some tips that will help you stay healthy in these cold months:

1. Stay active:
It might me hard to get out of the house when it's snowing outside; or maybe it's just too cold and you don't wanna get out of your cozy blankets; try taking some fitness classes, like yoga, spinning, Zumba or go to the gym.

2. Boost your diet:
This is the season where is more common to get a cold. So try eating foods that are high in vitamin C, to keep your immune system strong.

3. Sleep well:
According to a study, lack of sleep can have a serious effect on your immune system, making you more vulnerable to catching colds. We all know how hard it is for college students to go to bed before 12am.

4. See the light:
Your body produces vitamin D;which has been shown to help regulate mood; when your skin is exposed to UVB light. But in the winter, the sun’s rays aren’t strong enough in the northern half of the United States to power D production.

5. Drink the optimal amount of water:
It is more important than ever to consume the right amount of water for you health.
